The Government of Serbia has not yet decided what to do with the future cargo terminal and logistic center in Surčin.

- As soon as we have received the official information from the Government that the American gave up construction, our Administrative Board has suggested that the tender for selection of strategic partner should be announced again - says Nebojša Nedeljković, general manager of Airport "Nikola Tesla".

- The decision is up to the Government of Serbia, since it is the owner of the airport, and we are ready to carry out the procedure in the shortest possible time.

Nedeljković adds that there is no obligation that the job be given to the second-ranked on the previous tender, Israeli "Engel group".

Namely, since we are talking about the forming of joint venture with the company that is ready to build and manage cargo terminal, the tender is not subject to the Law on public procurements, according to which the job would have to be given to the second-ranked bidder on the previous tender.

- We are of the opinion that it is in the interest of the State, since American investor gave up, that the new tender be announced, because we now operate better than we did 2.5 years ago, when the previous tender was announced - Nedeljković points out.
