Construction of a new hot water pipeline, in which EUR 1.6 million will be invested, has been commenced in Pirot with the aim of connecting the Centrala boiler room with the Senjak power station.
Radovan Nikolic, director of the city heating plant, said that the new hot water pipeline was 1,500 meters long.
- We are now implementing the KFW 4 program. The hot water pipeline under construction will not affect the heating season. After this work is finished, we will have the hot water pipeline extended by another 450 meters to link the Senjak power station with boiler rooms Bujica and Sud - said Nikolic.
According to Pirot Mayor Vladan Vasic, the second phase of this investment will make it possible to close two more boiler rooms in the city - Bujica and Sud.
- In that way, we will get a brand new hot water pipeline and a brand new power station. We expect heating to be much more efficient and better - he added.
According to him, this part of the job is financed by the Energy Ministry, that is, the KFW program through the German Development Bank.
