Norwegians look to buy 2,000 tonnes of honey from Homolje

Implementation of the "Let's Preserve Its Majesty Bee" project in Petrovac na Mlavi, which is financed by the Embassy of the Kingdom of Norway to Serbia with RSD 3.4 million, is nearing its end.

Under this project, whose implementation began 1 November 2012 and should be completed on 31 October 2013, 140 beekepers and 30 women from the records of the National Employment Agency are attending training courses. All those who complete the course will get a certificate and RSD 510,000 worth of honey trees, whereas unemployed women will obtain the beekeping equipment and one hive with bees each.

Implementation of this project will run parallel to the export of honey to Norway, where 200 tonnes of this product from Homolje have been shipped so far.

Given that the quality of this honey has proven to be excellent, this Scandinavian country has a demand for ten times the quantity mentioned above.

Thanks to this, Norwegians have announced that they will raise cooperation to a higher level and significantly increase investments in beekeeping.
