U.S. company Gtech is interested in cooperation with Drzavna Lutrija Srbije (the State Lottery of Serbia). The owners of the company, which is among the biggest world companies in the games of chance field, will discuss investments in the Serbian lottery with the representatives of the Government of Serbia, Novosti reports.
It is still not known whether the ownership structure will change or this company will participate in the management of Lutrija with profit share. There have been some hints that Gtech will appoint its management in order to improve business operation of the Serbian games of chance company. Thus, the Americans would be entitled to a portion of profit and the state would remain the company owner. Drzavna lutrija Srbije says they do not have information on whether the American company will appoint its management, i.e. that it will be privatized.
- We are continuing regardless of insinuations in some media and finalizing successful business year of 2013, expecting a profit of some million euros – Drzavna lutrija says.
During the first six months, profit of Lutrija Srbije was RSD 580, 2 million. When other profits are added, such as, providing services to Lutrija Republike Srpske (the Lottery of the Republic of Srpska), generated from the sales of lists, office premises rent and others, the amount totals almost RSD 650 million for half a year.
Revenue of 1, 5 billion
Gtech is a renowned company engaged in printing lottery tickets. The company profit in the first six months of this year reached EUR 1.5 billion.
