Consortium comprising Siemens and Elnos BL finishes construction works on Vranje 4 substation

Consortium of companies Siemens and Elnos BL has finished construction works on 400/110kV Vranje 4 substation. On that occasion, a ceremony was organized October 8th and attended by numerous officials and representatives of contractors.
- With the construction and commissioning of the Vranje 4 substation and connection to the newly built interconnective long-distance power line Nis-Leskovac-Macedonian border, a long-term solution will be provided for safe and quality supply of electrical power to southeast Serbia. Construction of the Vranje 4 substation is one of the projects of highest priority. Aside from reliable electricity supply, its construction and commissioning will also secure much greater development of this region - Elektromreze Srbije CEO Nikola Petrovic pointed out.
Construction works were completely finished September 1st with 95 percent of the agreed equipment delivered.
Construction works on the Vranje 4 substation commenced September 2012 and reached a peak this year.
The project is mainly financed with the money from the European Union, while the EU Delegation considers it the best run EU-funded project in the region.
Vranje 4 is expected to be put into operation in August 2014.
