Although the deadline for delivery of offers for the purchase of the Mining-Smeltery Basin (RTB) Bor expires on November 22, 2006, there is not any official information, for now, on the number of companies that have purchased the tender documentation by now, because the Privatization Agency stated that such information would not be brought out into the public.

As the Agency explained, the current regulations on privatization imply that the information on interested buyers must not be announced prior to the opening of offers, in order not endanger the tender procedure itself.

Based on the unofficial information, the offers for the purchase of the copper combine were sent by 19 world companies, three of which, judging by the latest conditions and the campaigns they were running, have the best chances to "get their hands on" the Bor Mines and Majdanpek Mine, as well as the Copper Smeltery and Refinery.

The most serious candidate for new ownership, not counting the concessionaire of Crni Vrh, the Canadian company "Dundee - Precious Metals", are "Kuprum" from Romania, "Quatro Corporation" , from Nevis Island, Australian "View Mining" and Polish concern "KGHM". Russian "Bazni element" also ran an active marketing campaign on interest in Serbia.
