(Zorana Mihajlovic)Activities of public enterprises must be revised, and especially activities by 'Srbijagas', as this company is facing bankruptcy, stated for Tanjug, Minister of Energy, Zorana Mihajlovic, on Friday (September, 27, 2013).
We have warned so many times that, if it is possible, it should be done by the Police, said Mihajlovic, repeating that 'Srbijagas' was facing bankruptcy and that there are reasonable doubts 'that things must be looked into'.
She thanked to employees of 'Srbijagas' who have been sending data of the company's activities to the Anti-corruption team of the Ministry of Energy, as it is very difficult to obtain information from Srbijagas.
Mihajlovic estimated that those data along with the ones collected from the State auditor were enough for getting a report from competent authorities about the activities in that public company.

She noted that, parallel with this, there should also be undertaken financial consolidation and reformation of 'Srbijagas', as the company has reached a point when it can no longer fulfill its obligations.
'Srbijagas' debts towards suppliers are more than 40 billion RSD, according to Mihajlovic.
Minister repeated that the reformation plan would be forwarded to the Government for approval and that the program would be discussed with the Minister of Finance and Commerce.
- We will not allow that such a strategically important company falls down in front of our eyes, says the Minister.
When asked if such situation would effect on investments by the company and on construction of the South stream gas pipeline that should start by the end of the year, Mihajlovic said that the state of Serbia guaranteed for the South stream, and that it would do anything to fulfill its commitments related to the project as it has done so far.
In order to have Srbijagas in the center of all those works, we must make an efficient company, says Mihajlovic.
Members of the Criminal Police, Department for Combating Organized Crime, have undertaken control of the documentation from Srbijagas activities, and it was started by the request of the authorized Prosecutor's office, according to the report by the State Audit Institution about the company's operations in 2011.
Previously, the auditors have found that Srbijagas spent more than 46 billion RSD against the Law on public procurement, and that it imported gas without signed trade agreements.
