Negotiations with EU on living environment to start in 2015

Work group, in charge of access negotiations with EU in the area of living environment protection, should be formed by the end of the year, while negotiations in this area should be started at the beginning of 2015, said Chief of Department for European Integrations of the Ministry of Energy, Development and Living Environment Protection, Miroslav Tadic.
-Ministry of Energy, Development and Living Environment Protection is the coordinator of the negotiating group responsible for chapter 27. At the same time, we are selecting members of the working group and preparing documents important for negotiation process, he said at Assembly on participation of civil society organizations in the negotiation process with EU in the area of ecology.
He pointed out that civil society organizations are more than welcome in this team, especially experts, but the decision of their participation will be reached by the Government.
-We are waiting to see proposals of the modalities of their inclusion currently prepared by the Government's Office for cooperation with civil society, said Tadic.
He also said that the chapter on living environment protection in negotiations with EU is one of the most important ones, and a few years ago it was estimated that adjustment towards EU standards by 2030, would cost Serbia around 10 billion EUR.
