The Police started control of Srbijagas operations

Members of the Criminal Police, Department Combating Organized Crime, are inspecting documentation on Srbijagas operations, according to Tanjug.
Documentation control of this public company for transport, distribution, storage and natural gas trade, was started by the request of authorized Prosecutor's office, and based on the report of company's operations during 2011, which was submitted to the Ministry of Internal Affairs by the State Auditing Institution.
When controlling Srbijagas activities, the auditors have discovered that there had been more than 46 billion RSD spent against the Law on public procurement, and that it had imported gas without signed trade agreement.
In February of this year, the State Auditing Institution submitted to the Magistrates court in Novi Sad, a request for opening misdemeanor procedure against Srbijagas director, Dusan Bajatovic, because of disrespecting certain clauses of the Law on public procurement.
Regarding this matter, the Minister of Energy, Zorana Mihajlovic had previously stated that this company represented a case for Prosecution, and that she expected control of its operations.
She also said that she was surprised by the results of the audit, especially because such amount of 46 billion RSD, only brings misdemeanor charges.
