Contract on overhaul of turbine and generator in thermal power plant Kostolac B signed – Alstom to carry out project worth USD 21.9 mil



The Termoelektrane i kopovi (TE-KO) Kostolac company signed the contract with the Polish company, Alstom, on the capital overhaul of turbine and a generator in the B1 block, totaling USD 21,9 mil, it was announced at the company web site.
The Contract on the capital overhaul of a turbine and a generator in the B1 block of the thermal power plant Kostolac B, with the Polish Alstom which will carry out the works as it was the case with the block B2, was signed Septemberr 18 in Kostolac.
Dragan Jovanovic, director of TE-KO Kostolac and representatives of the Polish company, Robert Butzke and Darius Gladyszewsk, signed the contract, it was announced at the Kostolac-based company web site.
Due to turbine capital overhaul, B1 block in the thermal power plant Kostolac B will be halted March 1 and the works will last until December 1, 2014.
In this period, among other things, works on the reconstruction of the control system of turbine and the high pressure turbine bypass will be carried out as well as the capital overhaul of the generator with the factory rotor overhaul. Three generator stations will be replaced with new, modernized stations. High and low pressure heaters will be replaced and the capital overhaul of the turbine condensers as well as the factory overhaul of circulation pumps of cold water will be carried out as well.
The objective of these works is to reach nominal strength of B1 block of 350 MW, then to increase the facility efficiency and capacity and to prolong the operating age of the turbine equipment, TE-KO Kostolac announced.
