Export of honey from Mount Stara Planina to Italy began

Thirty tonnes of honey from Pirot will be exported to Italy by the year's end, President of "Nisavska Dolina" Beekeping Association Bogdan Kostic told Tanjug news agency today.

He said that Italians had thoroughly analyzed the honey offered by beekepers in Pirot, who mainly keep their beehives at Mount Stara Planina, adding that they were more than satisfied with its quality.

- They are very satisfied with the quality, which is why we've managed to get a good price of EUR 3.7 per kilogram of acacia honey. For the sake of comparison, this honey is priced at between 2.2 and 2.4 euros per kilogram in Serbia.
