Facebook loses 11m users

The most popular social media network Facebook has lost 11 million users after evidence emerged that special services had been using it for their own purposes.

Nine million people in the USA and two million in Great Britain have deleted their Facebook profile.

According to the media, the reason for this is a recent discovery by former CIA agent Edward Snowden that the social media network was "under surveillance."

According to a survey conducted by the University of Vienna, 40 percent of those who erased their profile did that becaused they feared someone could take advantage of their personal information.

About 13 percent of user claim they left Facebook because they were not satisfied with the service or because they lost interest in this social network.
