Serbian Prime Minister Ivica Dacic, who is on a visit to the United States of America, said that he had got the impression after talking with foreign investors that Freeport, General Electric and Chevron wanted to invest in Serbia.

- Speaking with foreign investors, primarily Freeport, General Electric and Chevron, I got the impression that they were very interested in expanding their business or starting operations in Serbia - Dacic said after touring the harbor in New Orleans.

He added that the president of Freeport would come to visit Serbia within the next few months at his invitation.

- What is important is that there is a possibility of discovering large reserves of certain ores as well as a great ore exploration opportunity that should benefit the state - said Dacic.

When it comes to companies General Electric and Chevron, it is possible that we will talk with them about investments in Serbia, the Serbian prime minister added.

According to him, General Electric is interested in buying a factory for producing locomotives and railway cars.

- Chevron eyes oil shale exploration. We find it very significant that the trade with the USA is on a constant rise - Dacic noted and stressed that the value of trade in 2012 had been at EUR 300 million and that he was sure it would be twice as big in 2013.
