Crvena Zvezda FC up for sale for EUR 60 million?

The Serbian government is going to sell Crvena Zvezda Football Club for EUR 60 million to the Bin Zayeds from the United Arab Emirates, the media in Belgrade reported.

The ruling family of Abu Dhabi should become the owner of the "red-and-whites" through its company Al Dahra.

Serbia would set aside EUR 40 million from aforementioned sum to repay all debts, while EUR 20 million would be used to develop sports in the country.

According to a preliminary agreement, the buyer would be obligated to annually invest EUR 15 million in the football club.

On the other hand, Partizan Football Club should also be put up for sale, but the Serbian government has not yet found anyone interested in buying the "black-and-whites."

- We have a situation that nobody knows who is running the clubs, and the only question important enough to ask is why the state fails to give enough money. Why should the state give money when it can earn it? I believe that we can earn from Zvezda and Partizan if we bring someone who would make a business out of it. You wonder why this is not possible now? Because everybody thinks that big money should be earned from this immediately - Serbian First Deputy Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic said recently.
