Soon from Bača to Vukovar by ferry ?

Ferry transportation on border crossing Bač - Vukovar will soon be put in operation after ten years of stoppage. In recent talk with Vukovar-Srem's parish priest Nikola Šafer, president of the Board for International Cooperation of Parliament of Vojvodina, Nenad Čanak, pointed to the efforts of the inhabitants of Bač to put the ferry transportation, which was very important to both Croats and Serbs as far as trade is concerned, in operation. On that occasion, Šafer expressed readiness to help and, according to the words of mayor of Bač, Tomislav Bogunović, after Easter holidays more concrete talks on reconciliation of solutions will take place. The biggest difficulty so far is obtaining of international navigation license, but Novi Sad-based Port Office is ready to issue the domestic license for former ferry, which is now located on the Danube, somewhere near Borovo.
Bringing of ferry back to life will open space, according to estimates of local authorities in Bač and Vukovar, for revival of economic cooperation in border areas.
