US investment funds interested in investing in Serbia

Milos Djurkovic, president of the American Chamber of Commerce in Serbia, said today that investors from the USA were interested in investing in Serbia, stressing that one of the most important prerequisites was to change the country's legislation.

- Few representatives of US investment funds that consider serious investments in Serbia are staying in Serbia these days. Therefore, not only that we hope, but we also seriously work on attracting investors - Djurkovic told Serbia's National Broadcasting Corporation (RTS).

He noted that the fact that Serbia had become a politically safe country had significantly affected the investment inflow.

Djurkovic stated that there were real chances of the Bosch company opening a factory in Simanovci, adding that it was likely that Mercedes would invest in the Automobile Factory in Priboj (FAP).

According to him, it is most important to continue to abolish parafiscal taxes and amend the Labor Law to enable the creation of new jobs and attract new investments.
