Prior to the end of the week, Serbia will send the official request to the Greek Minister of Foreign Affairs for allotment of aid in amount of 100m EUR.
That money from the "Hellenic plan" should be given to Serbia for construction of the highway from Grabovnica to Levosoj, that is, to Macedonian border. In addition to technical and other financial details, this was arranged last weekend at the meeting of the task forces of the two countries in Salonika. The joint project will be made official at the Greek-Serbian business council, which will be held on November 23 and 24, 2006, in Belgrade.
According to the words of Dragan Penezić, the assistant to the Minister of International Economic RElations, the two international tenders will be announced.
The first one will be announced in March 2007 in order to have the construction of easier section from Vladičin Han to Levosoj started already in June. The second tender for the most difficult section, which is construction of highway through Grdelica gorge, could be announced in one year.
The complete job is worth about 450m EUR. Of that amount, 100m is the donation from Greece, whereas the rest of the money, as the representatives of the Government of Serbia announced, will be provided from the National Investment Plan.
