Surdulica-based Knauf Insulation exports products to Saudi Arabia

Knauf Insulation, Surdulica-based factory for producing a thermal insulation material - mineral wool, said in a release today that it had shipped the first 30 containers of products to Saudi Arabia, adding that the goods exported were valued at about EUR 200,000.

The release reads that these 30 containers loaded with 29,000 square meters of mineral wool will be delivered to Saudi Arabia to meet the requirements of the first project in the Near East to involve the use of products made in Serbia in the construction of facilities.

As it is specified, Knauf Insulation's products will be built in flat roofs typical of industrial and commercial facilities.

It is added that partner companies from Saudi Arabia have recognized mineral wool in these systems as the best solution from the aspect of thermal and sound insulation as well as fire protection.

The release reminds that over EUR 25 million have been invested in the factory for producing mineral wool in Surdulica since 2007, when a large reconstruction project took place.

Knauf Insulation employs over 5,000 people in 35 countries.
