New tender for allotment of locations for small hydroelectric power stations by mid-September

Minister of Energy, Development and Environmental Protection Zorana Mihajlovic stated today that a new tender for the allotment of locations for small hydroelectric power stations should be prepared over the next month.

She told the press conference that about 100 locations from the first Request For Proposal should be put out to tender along with new locations offered by local self-governments.

Mihajlovic said that 317 locations in 17 municipalities in Serbia were put out to tender at the beginning of 2013.

Based on that tender, as she explained, Serbia will get 212 small hydroelectric power stations.

- We expect 600 new jobs at these power stations over the next two years - said the minister.
