The Serbian government has not abandoned its intention to sell Telekom shares, Blic has reported. Negotiations with the two companies that have expressed interest in partnership with the Serbian national telecom firm are set to continue this fall.
However, if no partner is found, citizens and the employees of this company can expect to get an additional package of Telekom shares as of 2015.
The decision to sell Telekom Srbija has been temporarily postponed because foreign partner currently believe that it would not be worthwhile to pay EUR 2 billion for a majority stake (78.5 percent) in Telekom Srbija. This is why the government has notified investors of their readiness to even negotiate on the sale of minority stakes, Blic writes.
