Government is intensively looking for a partner for Zelezara Smederevo

All members of the government and the cabinet of the Serbian President, have intensively been working on search for the strategic partner for Zelezara Smederevo, State Secretary at the Ministry of Finance and Economy, Aleksandar Ljubic, said.

- I can say that Zelezara will continue operating and that we will continue our search for the partner. The state does not plan to manage Zelezara forever but to offer it to a partner from that field which can invest, i.e. to offer added value to a company - Ljubic said.

He pointed out that the European steel market has still been suffering great crisis while production is 50 mil tons higher than the one which can be sold.

According to Ljubic, the good thing is that Serbia manages to find a buyer for all steel produced in Smederevo which is some 750.000 to 850.000 annually.
