Construction of highway from Bar to Serbian border to commence by year's end

Montenegrin Prime Minister Milo Djukanovic said today that the construction of the first section of the highway between Bar and the Serbian border would start by the year's end.

Answering the questions of the MPs from the Democratic Socialist Party at so-called premiere hour in the Montenegrin parliament, Djukanovic noted that the highway construction would secure jobs for about 4,000 workers.

It was said earlier that the Montenegrin highway would be built by a Chinese company, whereas the first stretch from Podgorica to Matesevo was announced to cost about EUR 800 million.

Djukanovic also announced new tourism projects worth about EUR 3 billion.
