Memorandums on construction of 49 mini hydroelectric power plants in Ivanjica signed

Today the Minister of Energy, Zorana Mihajovic has signed memorandums on construction of 49 small hydroelectric power plants on the territory of two municipalities.
- The priority of the Government of Serbia is to create new vacancies and the Ivanjica municipality which is grouped as insufficiently developed, with these investment can expect some hundred new vacancies as well as the profit of RSD 1,6 mil annually for the local self-governance budget - Mihajlovic said.
The Minister said that small hydroelectric power plants in the Ivanjica municipality are expected to generate RSD 4 mil annually, 60% of which will go to the budget of Serbia while the rest will go to the municipality.
Mihajlovic signed a memorandum with 28 investors, 60% of them foreign investors, from Italy, Slovakia, Slovenia while EPS has 19 locations.
- The Ministry for Energy will provide full support and help within the cooperation of the local self-governance and investors. Our suggestion for municipality is to set up public-private partnership with investors in order to boost efficiency - Mihajlovic said.
She announced that in the following month and a half, the Ministry of Energy will publish public call for the remaining 105 locations which did not get investors in the first public call.
