Tender for second mobile telephony operator in Kosovo

Ministry of Transportation, Postal Services and Telecommunications of Kosovo announed tender for second mobile telephony operator in Kosovo.

The criteria for bids will be announced on November 3, 2006, whereas the deadline for submittal of applications and documentation will be 75 days, prior to January 17, 2007.

As it was pointed out, it is expected that the process of selection of the second operator will be ended by the end of February 2007.

The starting price for the auction will be 20m EUR. The best bidder wins 30% of points, which is the same percentage of points that will be given to the operator that guarantees the biggest coverage of the territory. The winner on the tender will get the license for use of frequencies on period of 15 years.
