At the location Kriveljski kamen, near surface pit Veliki Krivelj, explorations are nearing an to an end. In more than a year and a half, 47 exploration holes have been done, whose total length is 21.000 meters.
The results show satisfying ore quality and until New Year it is expected that republic authorities will authorize new ore findings of Mine-melting basin Bor at that location which range from 70 to 80 million tons of ore with an average copper presence of 0,26% in ore.
At the bottom of this finding, at the Ujova river valley, geologist found another one, unknown findings so far. Three research holes were carried out, one of them reached 1.630 meters below the ground and is the deepest in the history of the Mine Bor.
The results which generated from the analysis of the extracted material show that it is a big bed. In the Ujeva river valley, ore emerged at 500 meters below the ground level and extends to the next 800 meters and the mid structure of copper in ore is some 0,24%.
Since another two close holes are passing through ore, it can be thought about several hundred million tons with an average structure of 25% copper in ore.
- Distribution of wholes points out that bed is moving towards the service and the next ones will show its structure and quantity. As for now, only on the basis of these three, reserves are forecast to some 300 million tons with 0,25% of copper - Manager of the Department for Geology of the Copper Mine Bor, Trajce Toncic, said for Tanjug.
Obtaining of approval from the responsible ministry for the new exploration field at Knjazevac is in the final stage. It is 100 square kilometers at the area between Minicevo and Novo Korito where there can be significant findings of lead, copper, zinc, gold, and in one zone there is a chance to find findings of coal, it has been said in the Mine-melting basin Bor.
