"Solaris Energy" starts construction of solar power plant in Kladovo

Kladovo-based Solaris Energy has started, with the financial support and partnership of ProCredit Bank, preparations of the ground for construction of its first solar power plant in Negotinska Krajina in Kladovo, municipality whose capacity in the first stage will be 999 kilowatts (kW) and where more than EUR 1.5 million will be invested, the bank said.

This is the first project of its kind in our country whose investors are citizens of the Republic of Serbia, and which will be implemented through a special credit facility of ProCredit Bank with an incentive of 15% of the loan value, intended for the investment in renewable energy sources.

- Our solar power plant in Kladovo will have two block, whose production capacity will amount to twice the 999 kilowatts, whereas now we are now staring the construction of the first part of 999 kW. The plan is to carry out the works very quickly and the new plant to start operation in early October this year. I am glad that we are entering into this project together with ProCredit Bank as a partner which, to us due to their understanding and expertise in investing in renewable energy, from the very beginning, has been a great support in the preparation of the whole project, but also in making such a major investment decisions - Milos Kostic, director of Solaris Energy said.

According to him, at the location where photo voltage panels of the first solar power plant in Negotinska krajina will be installed, there were vineyards which, due to lot of sun, were very fruitful. Over the time, soil erosion took its toll and the native soil at the site only a barren clay soil, of course, the sun remained.
