"Ericsson" and "Telekom Srbija" signed contract on implementation of third generation of mobile telephony network

Companies "Ericsson" and "Telekom Srbija" have signed the first contract in Serbia on procurement and implementation of the third generation of mobile telephony network (3G network).

3G system enables broadcasting of information in multimedia services, such as voice, images, photos, texts, video clips, music, TV program, news, sport events, survey of junctions, software applications.

3G technology provides up to 50 times quicker data transfer in comparison to the one provided today by GSM network and 10 times faster than the one offered by GPRS technology.

The contract is the result of "Ericsson's" successful testing of 3G network in Serbia and the deliveries will start right away. The network will be connected to the existing commutative network of "Telekom Srbija".

"Telekom Srbija" will be the first to conduct commercial 3G network in our country, which will offer advanced multimedia and mobile services on the market of wide range.
