Montenegro to decide on construction of second power generation unit within Pljevlja Thermal Power Station in September - Bids submitted by eight companies

The Government of Montenegro intends to choose the most favorable bid for the construction of the second power generation unit within the thermal power station in Pljevlja in September as well as adopt a special draft law defining the implementation of that important energy project in December.
There are ten companies interested in building the second power generation unit within Pljevlja Thermal Power Station. Bids have been submitted by eight of them - five bids came from China, while companies from Czech Republic, Slovakia and Poland submitted one bid each. These companies should submit their final bids by end-August.
The bidders from China are CMEC, China Gezhouba Group (CGGC), CEE Holdings, Power China, and China National Electric Engineering (CNEEC). The Czech company that submitted a bid is Skoda Praha, the bid from Slovakia came from Istoenergo Group, while the bid coming from Poland has been submitted by a mixed consortium of companies. The companies that expressed interest and failed to submit a bid are Rusatom Overseas from Russia and SNC Lavalin International from Canada.
