Construction of underground garage in Kragujevac - Project documentation consultant to be appointed soon

Kragujevac City Council accepted a proposal of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) on Friday (28 June 2013), thus giving the green light for the City of Kragujevac to officially begin the construction of an underground garage in the location Prodor.

According to Nebojsa Vasiljevic, a member of the City Council for Investment and Resource Development, the EBRD will donate USD 300,000 for the appointment of a foreign consultant by an international tender. The future consultant will have a task to audit the existing project documentation and feasibility study. Upon the official adoption of this study, the city will be obligated to make an international public call for proposals from prospective investors and contractors.

As Vasiljevic explained, this project is to be implemented through a partnership between the public and the private sector. The garage will span two underground floors, and will be built in line with European standards. An obligation of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development is to offer a loan at the most favorable terms to the strategic partner - investor.
