British company "Alena" is building a textile factory in Vranje, investment worth 5 millions eur

The English company "Alena" limited has bought a plant department of "Sloboda", Yumco's factory of textile, from Vranje, and in its place it will start building a new factory of textile worth 5 millions eur.

Minister of financies, Mladjan Dinkic, said that it was the matter of the first "greenfield" investment for which the funds would be granted from the National investment plan which were made for encouragment of employment.

-The investitor has a comittment to build the most modern factory and hire 3.000 people, and in return it will get 2.000 eur per each hired worker - said Dinkic and added that this new factory would be " a hundred percent oriented towards exporting".

Alena company signed today (October, 20th, 2006) besides the contract of the purchase of plant department "Sloboda", with Yumco company also signed a contract in the Agency for foreign investment (SIEPA), about leasing the second plant of Yumco which would be rented each month for the amount of 20.000 eur.
