Teknotes thermal power station in the village of Plazane will bring an annual revenue of about EUR 3 million to the Despotovac municipality, it was pointed out on Sunday (16 June 2013), at the celebration of the Day of the Municipality.
Speaking about construction plans, Despotovac Mayor reiterated that the total value of the investment was approximately USD 700 million.
- The thermal power station will be built in Plazane, on the site of former brown coal mine - Nenadovic said at a ceremonial session of the Municipal Assembly that was attended by Health Minister Slavica Djukic Dejanovic and State Secretary in the Energy Ministry Dejan Popovic.
- In order for this thermal power station, which requires about 1,250,000 tonnes of coal per year, to be supplied in a quality manner, the plan is to open an underground mine in Kosa Zabela and a strip mine in Cerje, near the village of Vitance - said Nenadovic.
He explained that a preliminary agreement had already been signed with Turkey's Teknotes, so that 3 percent of the thermal power station's total revenue from electricity sales would go to the municipality of Despotovac. Considering that the plan is to annually produce about 1m kWh, worth about EUR 100 million, Despotovac's projected revenue would be EUR 3 million.
The plan is to employ about 400 workers at the thermal power station and another 200 in new mines.
