Integration of “Intesa” bank and “Sanpaolo IMI” bank has been approved

The Management boards of Italian banks “Intesa” and “Sanpaolo IMI” have approved the integration of the two banks which will create the largest banking group of Italy, with a total activity of 507,5 billions eur.

This integration, worth 29,6 billions eur, means that now the present leading bank in Italy – “Unicredito” will be in the shadow of the newley formed group. The new banking group will have more than 6.000 departments in Italy and 760 in Central and Eastern Europe
