With support of the Republic of Serbia Mine Action Centre, a presentation and a short demonstration of state of the art devices for land testing were held at the Belgrade Fortress to mark the beginning of the company’s operations in Serbia. High representatives of the Ministry of Interior of RS, Ministry of Defence, Croatian Mine Action Centre, German Embassy, and German, Italian and Serbian companies were present at the presentation. The guests showed the biggest interest for devices SBL-10, MAGNETO® MXPDA and EMD-2 that detect underground signals with great precision and are considered one of the world’s most sophisticated devices for this purpose.
Branislav Jovanović, director of Felix Solutions, stated that there are many places that need land testing for explosive devices and it is a legal obligation of every company before beginning any kind of groundwork. “The EU has dedicated significant funds to resolving this problem in the Balkans and it is basically financing land testing and demining where necessary. It is important that we now have such a renowned company as a local representative in South East Europe and we believe that we will jointly contribute to land demining”.
According to the Rulebook on Construction Work Safety in Serbia (Official Gazette of RS 53/97), all companies are required to conduct land testing for explosive devices before beginning any kind of groundwork.
