The Czech energetic giant ‘CEZ” will soon participate on a tender for large project of constructing electrical stations and for coal exploitation in Kosovo.
If it wins on the tender, “CEZ” should have to plan investments of close to a 100 billions of krunas (3,5 billions eur), which would be the largest sum of money this company ever invested, but also the largest that any czech company invested abroad.
The tender was published by the Kosovo Government, and potential investitors should apply by the end of October, 2006. Kosovo offered to the investitors a licence for exploitation of brown coal and lygnite in its mines, which are one of the largest ones in Europe, and at the same time it demands a construction of the electrical station of 2.000 megavates of power.
The expenses of constructing energetic source in Kosovo, according to the expert’s evaluation, could reach 80 billions krunas (2,8 billions eur). The rest would be used for modernization of the exploitation of surface mines of lygnite, mostly for the purchase of all necessary technical devices.
