Turkish "Bosa" has chosen Serbia - the biggest investment in the sector of Serbian textile industry is being prepaired (12 millions eur)

The President of the Union of textile, clothing, leather and footware manufacturers and the owner of "Modus" company, Milan Knezevic, said today (October, 13th, 2006) in the interview to "Ekapija" that the biggest investment up to today in the textile industry of Serbian commerce, worth 12 millions eur will take place during 2007.

- It is a matter of a famous Turkish company "Bosa" that intends to transfer to Serbia a part of its production, in order to get nearer to the market of the European Union. The negotiations about the realization of this intention of "Bosa"'s management are still in process, but judging by the direction in which the talks are going, this investment will happen during 2007 - said Knezevic.

In regard with the presentley on going Fair of textile, clothing and equipment "Uniatex" which is in the organization of the mentioned Union held at the Bbelgrade fair, Knezevic says that this manifestation is only one of the results of all efforts of the Serbian textile industrials that they have made during the last year whishing to improve the conditions of their business.

- Everyone thought that the textile industry of Serbia was dead, but the Union, and its members, as well as this fair showed this was not so. During the last year we have succeeded to increase the total amount of the Serbian export to 150 millions dinars, and to get to the third place as an industrial branch exporter in the Republic. Thanks to this, the healthy market competition in this branch has begun to develop all over again, although we do still have problems with the unloyal competition - added Knezevic.
