MK Group will this year invest USD 15 million in the construction of a new silo in Ukraine, Miodrag Kostic, president of this company, announced Friday (7 June 2013).
He reiterated in a statement to Tanjug news agency that MK Group had already invested USD 50 million in Ukraine, adding that the company was boosting its operations in that market every year.
- Ukraine is a large market of 54 million people with an ever-growing demand, and we see our chance in the fact that Serbia wants to increase its production through exports - Kostic said during a break in the Serbia-Ukraine Forum.
He noted that a free trade agreement that was supposed to be signed by the year's end would contribute to the growth of trade between Serbia and Ukraine.
According to the data provided by the Serbian Chamber of Commerce (SCC), MK Group has rented about 50,000 hectares of land in Ukraine, while the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) has helped the company build the largest silo in Ukraine so far, with a capacity of 113,000 tonnes.
