Telenor and IBM launch EUR 4 million project in Serbia

Telenor has selected IBM as its partner in building a future proof provisioning system for its customers in Serbia. The agreement is worth more than EUR 4 million. The ambition is to provide a world class customer experience when offering combinations of telecom based services, e.g. mobile communications, fixed telephony and financial services.

- By signing this agreement IBM has once again demonstrated its readiness to review the business needs of Telenor and its solutions. This agreement will enable Telenor to have significant advantage on the market in the provision of services on one side as well as greater flexibility and efficiency on the other. This project is a continuation of the existing long-term cooperation between Telenor and IBM, which corroborates our positions as market leaders of innovative solutions in the field of IT - says Zeljko Vujinovic, director of IBM Serbia, Montenegro, Macedonia and Albania.

This project will deliver capacity to seamlessly combine third party ICT (Information and communications technology) services both from local and international markets. This means easier bundling of telecommunications services and increased variety of choice for the customer. In other words, this new platform will in the future enable customers to choose services like messaging, TV, internet, financial and cloud services, fixed telephony, etc., conveniently from Telenor.
