Serbia and Morocco sign double taxation avoidance agreement

(Mohamed Najib Boulif and Mladjan Dinkic)
Minister of Finance and Economy Mladjan Dinkic signed today with Minister of General Affairs and Good Governance of Morocco Mohamed Najib Boulif an agreement on the avoidance of double taxation with respect to income tax between the two countries.
Dinkic and Boulif assessed at the meeting that the signing of this agreement was only one of the steps towards improving economic cooperation between the two countries.
Dinkic said that Serbia and Morocco had the potential to achieve closer economic cooperation, and noted that the current level of trade of $13 million annually was very modest.
He said that Serbia, which had agreements on free trade and duty-free export to the EU, Russia, Kazakhstan, Belarus, Turkey and CEFTA countries, covered a market of 1 billion people, which was one of the reasons why many investors decided to make products in Serbia intended for export.
Boulif confirmed that Morocco was extremely interested in closer cooperation with Serbia, particularly in energy, infrastructure, transport, logistics, tourism and agriculture, which were all booming in his country.
These are the industries that are most interesting to investors, he said and called on Serbian companies to participate in international tenders announced by the Kingdom of Morocco in these industries.
