Serbian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Labor, Employment and Social Policy Jovan Krkobabic stated that pensions were not going to be either reduced or frozen.
- If we took RSD 5,000 away from each of the 1,750,000 pensioners in Serbia, we would somehow manage to fill a budget hole, but that would also lead to a higher mortality rate, and a country where people are not happy is really not much of a country. Therefore, there will be no reduction or freezing of pensions - he said in an interview in the new issue of NIN weekly magazine.
He stressed that another way to fill the budget hole was to implement a good fiscal policy, tax all taxpayers, and eradicate grey economy.
