Gorenje Q1 2013 loss at EUR 4.3 million

Slovenia's Grupa Gorenje reported a EUR 4.3 million loss in the first quarter of this year after registering a net profit of EUR 3.7 million in the same period last year, the company said in a release.

Gorenje generated a profit in Q1 2012 by freeing up reserves, thus increasing group's extraordinary revenues to EUR 10.4 million, SeeBiz reports.

In the first three months of this year Gorenje's extraordinary revenues reached EUR 4.4 million.

Revenues from the sale of kitchen appliances grew 0.5 percent to EUR 241 million, whereas the group's total sales revenues dropped 1.4 percent to EUR 289.4 million.

Gorenje's sales rose 2.1 percent to EUR 151.6 million in eastern Europe and fell 3.7 percent to EUR 117.2 million in western Europe.

Sales in the markets outside Europe went down by 11 percent to EUR 20.6 million.
