Denmark's Grundfos, one of the world's largest manufacturers of industrial pumps, has finished the construction of its factory in Indija Industrial Zone, in which it has so far invested EUR 50 million.

This factory is situated on an area of 15 hectares, in the vicinity of E-75 highway, and will be ceremoniously opened Wednesday, May 29th.

Construction of this 25,000 square meter factory commenced February 2012, while an administrative building and a production facility were completed in December, when all employees moved from a rented facility in Nova Pazova to Indjija.

Grundfos Serbia CEO Jim Toft Nielsen said that there were over 100 workers at the new production facility at the moment, adding that the plan was to hire another 250 people by the end of 2014.

- We also have plans and a space to build another two factories of a size of the one that has just been completed - Nielsen told Beta news agency.

According to him, the reason to invest in this region lies in the global strategy of the Grundfos Group.

- Previously, we had launched large-scale production in Hungary, where we have more than 2,000 employees, and it was very important for us to resume our growth in the region in order to approach clients in the east and the south - said Nielsen.
