On June 4th the eKapija business portal and the Institute of Economic Sciences will organize a free educational seminar in the field of management, finance and investment for the representatives of companies nominated for the Aurea Award. The Aurea Award is presented once a year to the projects best meeting the following three criteria - innovation, social utility and financial potential.

This seminar is also backed by the Innovation Fund, Basler insurance company, SGS Beograd, and the Serbian Chamber of Commerce.

- This year the Institute of Economic Sciences celebrates its 55th anniversary. In cooperation with our partners at eKapija we have decided to offer local businessmen a free one-day educational seminar in the year of our jubilee. The aim is to help the systematization and expansion of knowledge of the ways in which businessmen can develop a business idea, provide funding for their projects as well as what they should do and pay attention to in order to successfully implement their projects - said professor Dr. Dejan Eric, director of the Institute of Economic Sciences.

During the seminar, participants will get a chance to systematize their existing knowledge and acquire new knowledge in the field of financial management, investment planning, standardization, innovation project management, as well as to perceive all prospective sources of funding at their disposal in the country and abroad.

- Our five-year experience in presenting the Aurea Investment of the Year Award has showed that many innovative projects, based on good ideas, are often inadequately planned in terms of finance as well as that companies, despite their big efforts and initiatives, often lack business experience and knowledge to cope with arising problems. It is very important for entrepreneurs to learn the basics of financial management and come to understand the significance of financial planning in their business. This seminar should help local entrepeneurs acquire knowledge of basic economic parameters of business in order to more successfully apply for grants for their projects and increase their chances for success in the market – said Zdravko Loncar, director of eKapija.

Lectures at this seminar will be held by the representatives of eminent organizations and leading domestic economists: Dejan Eric, director of the Institute of Economic Sciences, Ljiljana Kundakovic, director of the Innovation Fund, Natasa Kecman, independent adviser at the EU Cooperation Bureau of the Serbian Chamber of Commerce, Marinko Ukropina, CEO of the SGS Beograd company, Vladimir Medan, chairman of the Managing Board of Basler Osiguranje, and Dr. Ivan Stosic, assistant director of the Institute of Economic Sciences.

The seminar will be held on the premises of the Institute of Economic Sciences, starting at 12 noon.
