French national railway pays record dividend

Last year, the French national railway, SNCF, with a 100% state-owned stake , generated three times higher profits and will pay nearly EUR 209 mil for 2012 which is 5% more than last year, when it reached a record amount, the official company journal reported.

Last year, company net profit tripled and totalled EUR 383 mil, French Puan reported.

Starting from 2008. when the first dividend was paid to the country every following year it was also paid, with the exception of fiscal 2009, when the company recorded losses, so that the total amount of dividends, with 2012, reached EUR 791 mil.
