Stone Italiana wants to invest in Serbia - Italian company for marble plates production could start building a factory in Serbia

The President of the municipal assembly of Jagodina, Dragan Markovic Palma and the director of the marble products company, Stone Italiana, from Verona, Robertu Dall Valla, had initial agreement on Tuesday on the construction of a factory in Jagodina.

After touring the company, at the meeting with Dall Valla, Markovic offered a location in the Industrial Zone in Jagodina which he called Italian industrial center since there is another Italian factory and another two should start building and introduced a host with all the benefits Serbia provides for new investments.

- We are offering land with a complete infrastructure and the state provides benefits for every new employee totaling up to EUR 10.000. If you invest EUR 20 mil and hire 200 people, you are free from income tax for ten years – Markovic explained.

The Mayor of Jagodina said to his hosts that they would get their construction permit in 15 days as of the day of submission and introduced Dall Valla with customs-free agreement Serbia has with the Russian Federation.

- We can place your marble products both to Serbia and Jagodina since Serbia does not have that kind of production you would not be a competitor to our companies – Markovic said and invited him to visit Serbia and Jagodina by the end of the month.

Dall Valla said that, after the speech of Markovic, he started thinking seriously and announced that he would visit Serbia with his team so that he could get clear picture of all the options.

- I know that our products can have a successful placement at the Serbian market and we can double production which would be significant for you as well – Dall Valla said, pointing out that they could start semi-finished products production immediately but that he was not sure whether they could get benefits for the semi products Serbia offered.

- It would be important for us to initiate production in Serbia because of the countries we can export to from Serbia with benefits, and as for the hall you are offering, I will come to have a look at it – Dall Valla said.
