Mercator records EUR 8 mil loss

In the first three months, Slovenian retail chain Mercator achieved about EUR 660 mil revenue and EUR 8 mil in net losses from operations, Slovenian business newspaper Finance announced today.

The newspaper says that the results are worse than expected, and they shall be discussed at the company supervisory board.

The official results should be known by the end of the week, when, according to the consortium of owners of 53% company stake – banks and Pivovarna Lasko, talks on the potential sale of their stake will continue.

Slovenian media yesterday reported that Agrokor and Mid Europa Partners submitted bids for the purchase of Mercator.
