Fiat Cars Serbia continues production of 500L after car components supply halt

Kragujevac-based Fiat has continued last night (May 13, 2013.) to work, running the third shift, after a production halt due to lack of spare parts, company representatives confirmed for eKapija.

Three days ago, Fiat Cars Serbia in Kragujevac halted production of model 500l, due to lack of parts from Italian supplying company Selmat Group.

As announced by the company, the shortage of supply has led to cuts in production at factories in Kragujevac and "Iveco" plant in Madrid, but also in other "Fiat"'s factories in Europe, production in question. Disruptions of production, caused great damage "Fiat Group", stated in their press release.

The company was facing similar problems in the last couple of weeks therefore Fiat is expressing concerns with respect to future relations of the company and its supplier, as it was stated.

Over the last few weeks, a number of Fiat factories were forced to halt production for failure and inability of Selmat Group to meet its obligations and deliver parts in time.
