Three international companies from the metal-processing sector, Romanian "Kuprum", Russian "SMR" - which is a part of the investment fund "Basic element" - and Australian "View mining" bought tender documentation for sale of Mining Smelter Basin (RTB) "Bor".
It is expected that some other companies, of about 20 companies that expressed interest in procurement of that system during the elaboration of the privatization strategy, buy the tender documentation prior to October 6, 2006, when the deadline for procurement expires.
Last week, the representatives of "Kuprum" spoke with the management and the representatives of the trade uniton in RTB "Bor". The President of that Romanian company, Hori Simu, said that, thanks to the regional integration, Bor-based giant could grow into the respectable company according to European standards. He announced big investments in modernization of the technology of ore production, as well as in construction of the new units, because the aim is that, instead of semifinished articles, i.e. copper catodes, final copper products enter world market.
The administration of Russian "SMR" announced visit to Bor-based and Majdanpek-based mines and talks with the management, workers and local self-government during the week. Australian "View mining" have not yet announced its intentions, but it is mid-sized company in the world metal-processing complex with several mines and processing capacities.
