(Leskovac)

The first technology and food park in the south of Serbia, established as part of a project implemented by the European Union in partnership with the Leskovac local self-government and five private companies, was officially opened today in Leskovac.

This investment is valued at EUR 880,000, RSD 10 million of which have been provided by the City of Leskovac.

Leskovac-based companies - Mlekara, Moravka, Tomako, Jugprom and Bonta Italiane - have created a common brand within the Technology Park, and dubbed it "Top Food". The products of these five companies will be marketed in all Balkan countries under that name.

Vladimir Kostic, director of the Technology Park, said that an expert team would primarily help companies reduce their costs of operations and, thus, boost sales in the region.

As it was said at a press conference, 23 tonnes of "Top Food" food products have already been sold to buyers in Croatia with another 20 tonnes ordered by companies in Kosovo.
