Third mobile operator in Serbia (from Austria ?) to get area code 067, 068 or 069

The third mobile telephony operator in Serbia will get one of the three area codes that are used by mobile operators in Montenegro at the moment: : 067, 068 or 069.

The application with the request for purchase of the tender documentation was sent only by "Mobilkom Austria” and Boris Nemšić, the Head of the ADministration of "Telekom Austria” and "Mobilkom Austria”, said, two months ago, that the group he led was very interested in entering our telecommunication market.

Mentioned 320m EUR for license and another about 0.5 billion EUR for construction of the infrastructure should not be some serious challenge for "Mobilkom Austria”. That business system has more than nine million users of mobile telephony. These are the subscribers of Austrian operator A1, Slovenian "Si Mobil”, Bulgarian "Mobitel”, Croatian "Vipnet” and "Mobilkom Lichtenstein”.

With 300-400 employees, as it is expected, the third mobile telephony operator will intend to cover all major cities and main roads with the signal. The signal will, most probably, cover Belgrade first and then Novi Sad, Niš, Subotica and the highway, whereas, in time, it will reach east, west and south regions of our country. The deadling for construction of network with the signal available in major part of Serbia is 3 years.
