Mayor of Senta, Atila Juhas, stated that the quantity of waste industrial waters in the Tisa river would be drastically reduced, because the biggest polluters would have the modern filters worth 10.5m EUR built.
The sugar factory in Senta, of which majority owner is company "SFIR" from Italy, intends to invest 5m EUR in the wastewater project, which will be finished within next four years.
The first phase was ended in 2006 with the construction of deposit field on surface of 13 ha in which the most polluted wastewater from sugar plant is poured.
Yeast factory "Alteh fermin" from Senta announced that the capacity of the existing filter would be significantly increased and that the works would start in spring.
Amount of 5.5m EUR would be invested for that purpose and the works on that unit would be finished in two years, said Juhas.
